Volume 45 - 1st printing. "The Mark of Cain!"

Story and art By Hal Foster.

The greatest adventure epic since Beowulf continues in this perennial full-color series. Sixty-five years since the creation of Prince Valiant and 20 years after its creator's death, Hal Foster is still considered to be comics' supreme classicist. Volume 45 reprints strips from the mid-1970s written and roughed out by Foster and finished by Foster prodigious assistant John Cullen Murphy, who had been quietly assisting Foster for several years, actively took over the bulk of the drawing chores in 1971 and immediately developed a fan-following himself. He is a six-time recipient of the National Cartoonists Society's "Best Story Strip" for his work on Prince Valiant. Each volume features close to a year's worth of full-page Sunday strips, in an oversized format showcasing the strip's spectacular artwork.

    Softcover, 9-in. x 13-in., 48 pages, full color.

    Cover price $16.95.
