Sheila works in a nightclub owned by gangster Burke, but Martin seems like a nice guy. But after she rejects him, Martin goes into business with Burke, in a story with early art by future EC legend George Evans. Miriam works in an insurance agency and is engaged to boring co-worker Neil, but dumps him when handsome, unpredictable Carl joins the agency. After a tragedy, she gets the chance to commit insurance fraud. Ann blames Peter for the train wreck that killed her parents and sets out to destroy him, but she didn't expect to fall in love with him in the process.
