Stories and art by Burne Hogarth, Reg Greenwood, Fred Methot, Bernard Dibble, Ernie Bushmiller, Ben Batsford, Rudolph Dirks, Vic Forsythe, Charlie Plumb, Bill Conselman, Harry O'Neill, Raeburn Van Buren and Frank N. Ernest. United's anthology featured reprints of early comic strips, plus an original superhero, Spark Man, whose identity was a secret even from the readers. United Features was better known as a comic-strip syndicate; Spark Man was a rare United character original to comic books. The readers get a list of the three men who might be Spark Man. When Val Hall's fancy costume party is robbed by a Spark Man impostor, the real Spark Man shows up to stop him, causing identity confusion. Sinister fifth columnist Dr. Dryden kidnaps Miss Mason to his cemetery hideout, and Spark Man follows. Danny Dingle and Dilbury try to be chivalrous, but that backfires in a big way. Plus a Tarzan adventure by Burne Hogarth. Flash! The Spark Man Pays Our Editor a Visit!; The Spark Man Explains His Power!; Who is The Spark Man? Can You Guess?; The Spark Man; Nancy; Captain and the Kids; Ella Cinders; Tarzan; Abbie an Slats; Broncho Bill; Frankie Doodle; Dynamite Dunn; Chris Crusty; Danny Dingle; Unbelievable - But True. 64 pages, Full Color. Story and art by Rob Justus.
Adventure Time meets The Good Place in this zany-yet-philosophical graphic novel buddy comedy about an unlikely friendship!
Being Death is no way to live. Sure, you're all-powerful, but collecting souls involves a ton of paperwork, and it's impossible to have friends when everything you touch instantly dies. Being Sparkles the Last Unicorn isn't as fun as you'd imagine, either. Maybe it seems like the whole world wants to be your bestie, but really people just want you to pose with them for selfies, or use you to help them sell stuff.
Everything changes when Death and Sparkles meet and realize they might just be one another's first chance at a real friend. But before they can even enjoy the bromance, the whole world starts freaking out about this unlikely pair. Will fame or BFFdom prevail?
Softcover, 6-in. x 8-in., 368 pages, full color.
