Spooky - unlike his cousin, Casper the Friendly Ghost - loves to scare people, but his kindly ghost girlfriend Poil disapproves. This issue features the first appearance of Spooky's girl friend, Pearl (or "Poil" in Spooky-speak). Spooky meets Poil while he's skipping school, but he can't tell her that because she loves school and books. Nightmare offers to model for a photographer, forgetting he doesn't show up on film. The Ghostly Trio's fight over which TV show to watch ends in an unexpected way.
