Sweethearts was Charlton's continuation of the first monthly romance title, lasting from the romance boom of the '50s until the early '70s. Joy falls for Bret, lead singer of "The Hippitones," but she's not sure she can keep up with his '60s lifestyle, in an early story by famed comics scribe Gary Friedrich. Sadie hits it big as a teen actor and becomes a national heartthrob, but all she can think about is the boy she left back home. Nick and Liz gain a reputation as a wild couple, but when they are pulled over, Liz gets mouthy with the cop and gets them both in trouble.
