Story and art by Jim Toomey.
What happens in Sherman's Lagoon doesn't always stay in Sherman's Lagoon. In this, the fourteenth collection of Sherman's Lagoon comic strips, we examine the once-taboo subject of sea turtle courting rituals and conclude that, although sea turtles may be remarkable navigators, it's a cruel exercise in Darwinism when they show up at the right place without the right pickup line.

Winner of a Harvey Award and voted Best Graphic Album of 2001 by Time Magazine, this popular book comes back in a new second printing! James Sturm delivers this compelling picture novella about a barnstorming Jewish baseball team.
Set in the 1920s, the story opens as The Stars of David travel from town to town earning a living by playing local squads. When financial difficulties threaten to end their season they cast their lot with a Chicago promoter, Victor Paige, who then convinces them to add the Golem, a Jewish mythological figure, to their bullpen. 1st printing. Story and art by James Sturm. Reuniting America's greatest pastime with its hidden history, the graphic novel tells the story of the Stars of David, a barnstorming Jewish baseball team of the depression era. Led by its manager and third baseman, the nomadic team travels from small town to small town providing the thrill of the sport while playing up their religious exoticism as a curio for people to gawk at, heckle, and taunt. When the team's fortunes fall, the players are presented a plan to get people in the stands. 1st printing. Story and art by Audrey Meeker. Debut author/illustrator Audrey Meeker playfully explores complicated friendships, gender norms, and navigating other people's expectations in this charming middle grade graphic novel. Marcus McCalister wants to fit in. So much so that he's still playing on a soccer team with his childhood friend Ted, despite not liking soccer-or Ted-all that much. Izzy Briggs wants to stand out. Being labeled the "weird kid" for her bold fashion choices is the price an aspiring designer must pay for a life of greatness-but being confident isn't always easy. So when Izzy and Marcus are paired together to perform a swing dance routine for a gym project, it's no surprise that everything goes up in flames, including their grade in the class. Until their gym teacher proposes a deal: if the pair performs the swing routine in the upcoming talent show, they'll receive extra credit and a passing grade. They accept... but Izzy has her own proposal for Marcus: this time, she gets to be the lead. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 256 pages, full color. Cover price $14.99.
