Terry and the Pirates was a comic strip developed by cartoonist Milton Caniff, also the creator of Steve Canyon, in 1934 for the New York Daily News. Terry meets Taffy Tucker and Flip Corkin, who was based on a real-life war hero. But the most significant event is the death of Raven Sherman, a rarity in comics at the time.
