Story by Del Connell. Art by Al Hubbard. Peter Wheat is the inch-high hero of the Wheat Field, where he lives with his insect friends. The team of writer Del Connell and artist Al Hubbard continued the strip begun by Walt Kelly. Peter convinces Beetle to help him explore the stream on the far side of the frozen pond, even though they aren't carrying their swords. They discover that King Blue-Eye of the Trolls has used magic powder to change everyone into trees. Peter plots to steal the weird king's magic eye, rendering him sightless, but that won't be easy. 16 pages, Full Color.
