    Story, art and cover by Walt Kelly. Peter Wheat is the inch-high hero of the Wheat Field, where he lives with his insect friends. The giveaway comics were created for a national bread consortium by comics genius Walt Kelly, artist of Pogo. As the Wheat Fielders are attending to the harvest, a baby chick is trapped in an out-of-control cart. The cart goes into the river, and is captured by a hawk. Peter and Beetle enlist the help of a mouse and Blue Jay in an attempt to save the chick. 16 pages, Full Color.
