Story by Del Connell. Art by Al Hubbard. Peter Wheat is the inch-high hero of the Wheat Field, where he lives with his insect friends. The team of writer Del Connell and artist Al Hubbard continued the strip begun by Walt Kelly. Blue Jay brings mute warning of approaching forces. Riding on Blue Jay for aerial reconnaissance, Peter sees an army of leafhoppers massing to invade the Wheat Kingdom. Peter challenges the leafhopper captain to a duel, even though the captain is famed for his dueling ability and double swords. 16 pages, Full Color.
