After a terrific fight, the Master of Magnetism learns that Doom has taken over the White House! So the X-Men's long-time foe and the Beast rush to Washington D.C. (with the Champions in hot pursuit)! And once the Hulk joins the party on the White House lawn, the chaotic clash erupts! Magneto vs. Doctor Doom! The Green Goliath vs. the Lion of Olympus! The Beast and Ghost Rider vs. Angel and Iceman! Wow, rare battles between Marvel heavyweights! In the end though, what will it take to defeat the near-omnipotent Victor Von Doom? Perhaps a taste of the hellfire will do the trick! Cameo appearances by President Jimmy Carter and Secretary of State Cyrus Vance. Champions Lineup: Angel, Black Widow, Darkstar, Ghost Rider, Hercules, and Iceman. (Notes: This story features the first meeting between Magneto and Doctor Doom; and also early encounters among Magneto, Hercules, and the Hulk. Magneto appears next in Uncanny X-Men 111.
