Volume 1 - 1st printing. "Child of the Stars!"

Written by Van Hamme. Art and cover by Grzegorz Rosinski.

In seventh century Scandinavia, Viking warriors discover a child in a space capsule and name him Thorgal Aegirsson after Thor, the Norse God of thunder, and Aegir, the ruler of the sea, because they consider Thorgal to be a gift of the Gods. Thorgal is in fact a survivor from a group of space-farers that come from a highly advanced civilization. When his adoptive father dies, Thorgal is ostracized by the new Viking leader, Gandalf the Insane, and is only saved from Gandalf's hatred by his daughter Aaricia, whom he eventually falls in love with.

Combining Norse mythology, Atlantean fantasy, and science fiction, the adventures of Thorgal have already been a phenomenal success in Europe and are available in English for the first time since 1986.

    Softcover, 7 1/4-in. x 10-in., 96 pages, full color.

    Cover price $14.99.
