Tip-Topper Comics collected some of United Features Syndicates most popular comic strips of the 1940s in full color, including Lil Abner and Fritzi Ritz. Fritzi was later known as "Aunt Fritzi" in the Nancy comic strip. Fritzi gives bearded beachgoers helium balloons, so they don't get their beards wet, in a strip whose final panel would be a delight to Dr. Seuss or Salvador Dali. After defeating Curly Kayoe for the world championship, boxer Dynamite Dunn refuses Happy Daye's demand for a rematch. Abner takes the place of a statue he broke, in a Li'l Abner storyline by Al Capp. Plus the Ripley-like Strange as It Seems.
