Written by Si Spencer Art by Simon Gane & Cameron Stewart Cover by Sean Phillips Noted British television writer Si Spencer (Eastenders, Torchwood, Bad Girls) presents a sharp, unforgettable cadence in THE VINYL UNDERGROUND, a 21st century cross between THE INVISIBLES and CSI that brings rich social and political context to the dark, glittering cesspool that is London. Spencer is joined by indie creator/penciller Simon Gane (Paris, Punk Strips) and Eisner-nominated artist Cameron Stewart (the Other Side, SeaGuy) with bold, captivating covers by by Sean Phillips (The Invisibles, Criminal). In this fast-paced, ultra-cool ongoing crime-noir series, an unlikely quartet of occult detectives secretly solve crimes - from DJ crack bars in Camden to the elegant, high-society ballrooms that make up modern London. The Vinyl Underground is led by Morrison Shepherd, a D-list celebrity darling, soul DJ, and son of an ex-footballer. Fresh out of prison and off a nasty coke habit, Morrison is joined by a fellow ex-con named Perv, whose seizures give him clues to crimes long before the cops, and Leah, a gorgeous morgue assistant who leads a double life online and represents the brawn of the team. Morrison's ex-flame Abi is reluctantly forced to join the team when her father is implicated for murder. A young boy's head (with diamonds in the eye sockets) washes up on the edge of the Thames and seems to be connected to a series of ritual killings, a drug called Khat, and Muti magic. Can they get to the bottom of it? Cover price $2.99.

A Revised History of the American Revolution

The true history of the American Revolution as it was never taught in school! 1st printing. Story and art by Walker Tate. An unnamed man stumbles upon a flyer directing him to a suspicious medical facility that promises to fix his eyesight. After he gets the operation, optical defects begin to emerge, along with a whole new set of concerns. Impressionable and easily alarmed, the man comes to suspect he has received much more than he paid for. LASER EYE SURGERY is the first graphic novel by New York cartoonist Walker Tate. Far from an objective (or even accurate) depiction of the popular eyesight-corrective procedure, this is an idiosyncratic and lopsided take on sight, paranoia, and the comics form. As the mans vision continues to change in unforeseen ways, he plunges down a path of confusion and intrigue, no longer sure what to trust. Scams and cons appear to be everywhere, a cosmic swindle looms just out of view. Are the perceived dangers really present, or merely thought to be, and which is worse? Shifty and withholding, steeped in dread, Laser Eye Surgery is a comically unsettling rumination on perception and its trappings. Softcover, 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., 96 pages, B&W. Mature Readers Cover price $19.99.

1st printing. Story and art by Akvile Magicduste. Translated by Erika Lastovskyte. In 1965, inspired by The Beatles, Lithuanian musician Jurate Dineikaite founded a rock band called The Bees. This spirited ensemble of six women toured throughout the Soviet Union during the 60s and 70s — turning heads with their blue jeans, mop-tops, and modern rock sound. For these women, taking the stage was at once an electrifying expression of their artistry and an audacious political act.Based on interviews with Jurate herself, this graphic novel vividly captures episodes of the groups lived experiences — from thrilling performances to chilling encounters with the KGB. An authentic portrayal of a fascinating true history little known outside of Lithuania, The Bees is adapted with vibrant colors and a charmingly handcrafted style by cartoonist Akvile Magicdusté. This edition also features a photo gallery with period snapshots of the band in action, plus a playlist of their original songs! Softcover, 7 1/2-in. x 9-in., 168 pages, full color. Written by Dian Hanson. Art and cover by Eric Stanton.
Tracing the rise of commercial fetish art from its shadowy beginnings in the 1940s to its acceptance in the 1970s, this illustrated biography explores the unconventional life and art of Eric Stanton, a pioneering sexual fantasist who helped shape the movement. With more than 400 rare images and interviews with Stanton's family and closest associates, this biography chronicles the infamous circle of patrons, publishers, and cult icons populating his subterranean world, including Irving Klaw, John Willie, Bettie Page, Steve Ditko, and Gene Bilbrew. It is the untold, secret history of a misunderstood culture, the abuses of government authority, social intolerance, and gangsters. But above all, it is a tale about survival against all odds and an artist who had the courage to stay true to himself.

1st printing. By Tim Pilcher and Gene Kannenberg, Jr. Cover by Garyle (in the style of Bill Ward). Back Cover by Bill Ward. Foreword by Aline Kominsky-Crumb. This international survey of erotic comics chronicles a groundbreaking form of sexual expression up to 1970, the years when mainstream culture spurned explicit eroticism. In the 1930s, American ?Tijuana Bibles, little pornographic comic books that parodied popular comics and comic strips, were widely available. World War II gave a boost to erotic comics, especially illustrated pin-ups. This set the stage for men's magazines such as Playboy, which included racy cartoons from the beginning, and fetish comics. The flowering of the counterculture in the next decade gave rise to underground comics, whose acknowledged master was Robert Crumb. A parallel development occurred in Europe, where erotic comics like Barbarella were suddenly the rage. Erotic Comics tells this story with hundreds of illustrations, informative text, and insights from key artists, writers, and publishers. It's sexy, artistic, entertaining, intriguing, and informative. Hardcover, 10-in. x 10-in., 192 pages, PC/PB&W. Mature Readers Cover price $29.95.

1st printing. Written by Pat Thomas. From the late 1950s to the mid-70s, work by contributors like Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs, Amiri Baraka, Eldridge Cleaver, Tim Leary, Dennis Hopper, Jean Genet, Jerry Rubin, Bernadette Devlin, and Germaine Greer regularly appeared in the countercultural magazine Evergreen Review. Their subversive work and radical politics defined outsider literature for an entire generation. Edited by Barney Rosset of Grove Press, Evergreen Review was a quarterly illustrated/photography driven reflection of that genre. For the first time ever since their original print date, full color reproductions of all front covers of all 100 issues of the Evergreen Review from 1957 to 1973, plus hundreds of pages from many of the issues are reprinted exactly as they looked then – with all illustrations, photography, even the ads for other books, albums, letters to the editor, subscription offers, etc. – left intact! Historian Pat Thomas interviewed original 1960s era Evergreen staffers to get the inside scoop on the day-to-day operation of the magazine, and those conversations join new essays looking back on this golden era by John Oakes, Loren Glass, Kasia Boddy, Dale Peck, Ethan Persoff, Ken Jordan and Stanley Gontarski. Will this new Evergreen Review change the world as it did in the 1960s? Of course it will! Hardcover, 9-in. x 12-in., 320 pages, full color. Cover price $34.99.

1st printing. Story and art by Nancy Burton. Nancy Burton was among the earliest 1960's underground cartoonists, creating comic strips under the pen name "Hurricane Nancy" among others. Burton stopped making art in the early 1970's until 2009 when she began posting artwork online. HURRICANE NANCY is the first collection of Burton's work ever published and reprints many of her comics and drawings from the 1960's in addition to her more recent work. Burton talks about the origins of her pen names, encounters with Timothy Leary and the Grateful Dead and explains why she stopped making art entirely in the 1970's. HURRICANE NANCY is both a retrospective of a significant artist in the history of comics as well as a first-person account of a fascinating moment in counter-cultural America. Softcover, 9-in. x 12-in., 112 pages, full color. Cover price $30.00.
