Li'l Abner-like Danl Flannel becomes a strongman in a traveling medicine show, unaware it's partnered with outlaws. Edison Bell overhears what he thinks is a plot for his own kidnapping. Also, "Edison Bell's Gift to Plane Spotters" tells young readers how to create silhouettes of enemy aircraft to identify them during potential air raids - a snapshot of its era.
