Mile High Comics Catalog of Mail Order Excellence, Section 1 of 3 (each section a 20 page tabloid-sized supplement to The Comics Buyer's Guide #190, 1972). The three supplements together list the great majority of Golden Age comics from the legendary Mile High Collection, the largest single collection of Golden Age ever discovered. In Section One, the first comic listed is Abbie & Slats Single Series # 25 for $8.00. The owner of Mile High Comics, Chuck Rozanski, initially held back some key issues. Thus the first Action Comic listed is # 22 in NM for $180.00. The last title listed on the last page of Section 1 is Georgie with #1 in NM for $12.00. The copy of the catalog on which this text is based was acquired from Don Maris, a longtime friend of Lone Star's owner, Buddy Saunders. Here are Don's comments on this fascinating and legendary collection: "Way back in 1976, I was going to comic cons, and collecting like crazy (even though I had very little money). I subscribed to the Comic Buyers Guide from the first one, and so I received three sections of Chuck Rozanski's Original and First Catalog of his amazing find. I also went to Houston Con where Chuck set up to sell this collection for the first time. We all thought the prices he was asking were, for the most part, too high. Nevertheless, when I saw Chuck in Houston I ordered the first seven Supersnipe Comics from him. (They were extremely hard to find, and since my childhood nick name was Supersnipe, I loved the comic.)" Tabloid 11-1/2-in. x 17.5-in., 20 pages, newsprint.

Mile High Comics Catalog of Mail Order Excellence, Section 2 of 3 (each section a 20 page tabloid-sized supplement to The Comics Buyer's Guide #190, 1972). The three supplements together list the great majority of Golden Age comics from the legendary Mile High Collection, the largest single collection of Golden Age ever discovered. In Section Two, the first comics listed are a continuation of the Georgie comics that were partially listed at the end of the first catalog. On the last page, the last comics are The Shadow with #1 in NM+ at $285.00. On this same back page, Sensation Comics #1 NM+ is $1,000. The copy of the catalog on which this text is based was acquired from Don Maris, a longtime friend of Lone Star's owner, Buddy Saunders. Here are Don's further comments on this fascinating and legendary collection: "When Chuck found his fabulous find of comics, he determined that in order to pay for them, he needed to sell as many as possible as quickly as possible and to do that, he had to get the word out. He decided to go to three major comic conventions. The first one was in Houston. He also decided to put out a catalog, but how to get it out to collectors? The answer was to print it in three sections and have them inserted into The Comics Buyer's Guide." Tabloid 11-1/2-in. x 17.5-in., 20 pages, newsprint.
