1st printing. Edited by William Irwin and Mark D. White. Alan Moore's Watchmen is set in 1985 and chronicles the alternative history of the United States where the US edges dangerously closer to nuclear war with the Soviet Union. Within this world exists a group of crime busters, who don elaborate costumes to conceal their identity and fight crime, and an intricate plot to kill and discredit these "superheroes." Alan Moore's Watchmen popularized the graphic novel format, has been named one of TIME magazine's top 100 novels, and is now being made into a highly anticipated movie adaptation set to be realeased March of 2009. This latest book in the popular Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture series peers into Moore's deeply philosophical work to parse and deconstruct the ethical issues raised by Watchmen's costumed adventurers, their actions, and their world. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 228 pages, Text Only. Cover price $17.95.

What About The Comic Books (1948), by Sidonie Matsner Gruenberg, is a magazine article published in Woman's Day. Are the comic books vicious trash, a crime agaisnt children? Are the comic books mordern folk tales, much like the approved classics? Across the land, these publications have stirred up a fierce storm of controversy. In this article the director of the Child Study Association of America weighs the pros and cons of comic books. Large-size tabloid publication that was given out by Dr. Fredric Wertham in the course of his anti-comics lecture tours in 1953/54. It reprints Wertham's Ladies' Home Journal article, which in turn excerpted a sizeable chunk of his infamous book Seduction of the Innocent. A bunch of illustrations from the book are reproduced here as well. The booklet is certainly RARE. It is eight pages in length while measuring approximately 11.5-in. x 13.5-in.

1st printing. Compiled by Stephen Briggs. For more than two decades, Terry Pratchett has regalled readers with tales of Discworld - a flat world populated by ineffectual wizards and sharp-as-tacks witches, by tired policemen and devious dictators, by reformed thieves and vampires who have sworn to drink no blood. It is a world that is vastly different from our own - except when it isn't. Now, in The Wit and Wisdom of Discworld, various nuggets of Pratchett's witty commentary and sagacious observations have been compiled by Pratchett expert Stephen Briggs, a man who, they say, knows even more about Discworld than Pratchett himself. Softcover, 6 1/2-in. x 9 1/2-in., 360 pages, Text Only. Cover price $14.95.
