Produced by Tom Devlin of Highwater Books, this San Diego Comic Con exclusive was given away by cartoonist Joe Chiapetta, as Highwater Books didn't have an official presence at the convention. This "Marvel Benefit Issue" was free and titled as such as a joke on Marvel who had just declared bankruptcy. Larry Herndon's "Fandom's Library" continues, as does "A Listing Of Whitman Material" by Dale Manesis. Dale's installment is a very detailed alphabetical list of the Whitman BLBs, from Dick Tracy 1454 to Little Orphan Annie 1403. There are a lot of other features, including a list of current fanzines, a Panelology Quiz, a Krazy Kat article, and Justice Society portraits by Bill Wilson. For many, the highlight is three pages of photos from the 1968 Dallas SW convention. Pictured are Ken Finnerty, Larry and Irving Bigman, Chuck Wooley, Fritz Leiber, Larry Herndon, Tom Reamy, Gary Acord, Caz, Boyd and Dee, Paul McSpadden, Bill Wallace, and G. B. Love. Price drop by 25 cents as compared to last issue. Only issue in which the cover is NOT in color. Cover and the pages in the center of the book are on a light-blue colored paper. Front cover is by Steve Fritz and back cover is by Raymond B. W. Wong This is the final issue of Star-Studded Comics. It was printed on newsprint paper and bound with glue instead of staples. "Let's Talk It Over!" column has letters from Gardner F. Fox, Al Christensen, Harry Warner Jr., Bill Schelly, and Kent Russell. Column also notes that Jim Starlin and Dave Cockrum, who have work in this issue and previous issues, recently became professionals "for the comic publishers in NYC." Also notes that Dr. Weird now has his own comic and that issues one and two are available for 35 cents each. There is a full page ad for issue number two in this issue.
