Volume 2 - 1st printing. "Playboy Trump: The Complete Collection!"

Harvey Kurtzman created the publishing sensation MAD and in 1956 could have played his strong hand into a lucrative equity deal with EC publisher Bill Gaines. Instead, he bolted from MAD to join another 1950's publishing sensation, Hugh Hefner and Playboy.

Hefner provided the format and big budget that Kurtzman had dreamed of. The resulting new color satire magazine Trump was lavish, ambitious and star studded, featuring Mel Brooks, Will Elder, Jack Davis, Wally Wood, Arnold Roth, Al Jaffee and Russ Heath, among others. Trump held enormous promise. But, for complex reasons, Hefner pulled the plug before the third issue was finished. For the first time in six decades, the legendary magazine is finally collected, featuring much never-before-seen art, including the surviving contents of the long-lost Trump #3. For comics archaeologists, this is a print version of King Tut's tomb.

With essays and annotations by Kurtzman expert Denis Kitchen that put the 1956-57 publication in context, this long-overdue collection will be a revelation to fans of Kurtzman and his crew of madmen, satire, and popular American culture.

    Hardcover, 6 1/2-in. x 11-in., 168 pages, full color.

    Cover price $29.99.

Award-winning author Mark Evanier provides insightful and entertaining Peanuts cultural and historical context. An introduction from Patrick McDonnell, a foreword by Jean Schulz, and appreciations and remembrances from key figures in the world of Peanuts make this book a unique milestone in Peanuts publishing.Seventy-five years since the first Peanuts strip made its debut on October 2, 1950, the beloved comic and its iconic characters remain a touchstone for generations around the world. From cultural milestones such as NASAs Apollo 10 lunar and command modules being named after Charlie Brown and Snoopy to the classic holiday specials that continue to draw millions of viewers, Peanuts has a lasting influence that few works of art or literature can claim. The power of these iconic characters is also evident from the popularity of modern-day animated movies and iPhone shorts, and even the Gen Z phenomenon of so-called Snoopy Girls. This official book celebration of the 75th anniversary of Peanuts is produced in collaboration with Peanuts Worldwide and the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa, California. Not many cartoons live into the next generation, and that probably is the best definition of art, isn't it? Does it speak to succeeding generations? Real art, real music, real literature, speaks to succeeding generations. –Charles M. Schulz The book includes original contributions by Robb Armstrong (Franklin), Derrick Bang (Vince Guaraldi and A Charlie Brown Christmas), Rob Boutilier (The Snoopy Show), Paige Braddock (Schulzs pen line), Alberto Brambilla (Peanuts in Italy), Benjamin L. 1st printing.

Story and art by Hector German Oesterheld. Art and cover by Alberto Breccia.

This is a psychedelically drawn, boldly political retelling of the 1950s graphic novel The Eternaut, whose imagery is still used as a symbol of resistance in Latin America to this day.

In the 1950s, pioneering comics writer Héctor Germán Oesterheld authored the serialized science-fiction adventure story The Eternaut, now a seminal Argentine graphic novel. In 1969, Oesterheld rebooted his narrative as a dark warning for a mature readership; Alberto Breccia manifested the tonal shift with an expressionistic, disorienting art style.

In The Eternaut 1969, a deadly "snow" falls. Juan Salvo's small household of family and friends are spared, protected inside his home-but what horror awaits them in the silent, deserted streets of Buenos Aires? Venturing out in search of supplies, our everyday heroes soon join the resistance against an enemy far more sinister than anything they could have imagined.

    1st printing.

Evel Knievel was a high-flying daredevil, the father of extreme sports, the personification of excitement and danger and showmanship . . . and in the 1970s Knievel represented a unique slice of American culture and patriotism. His jump over the fountains at Caesar's Palace led to a crash unlike anything ever seen on television, and his attempt to rocket over Snake River Canyon in Idaho was something only P. T. Barnum could have orchestrated.

The dazzling motorcycles and red-white-and-blue outfits became an integral part of an American decade. Knievel looked like Elvis . . . but on any given Saturday afternoon millions tuned in to the small screen to see this real-life action hero tempt death. But behind the flash and the frenzy, who was the man? Bestselling author Leigh Montville masterfully explores the life of the complicated man from the small town of Butte, Montana.

He delves into Knievel's amazing place in pop culture, as well as his notorious dark side - and his complex and often contradictory relationships with his image, the media, his own family, and his many demons. Evel Knievel's story is an all-American saga, and one that is largely untold.

Leigh Montville once again delivers a definitive biography of a one-of-a-kind sports legend.
