Comic books in 'Cartoon'

The Knicker, April 1928 issue, is a promotional comic book for clothing company that sells knickers for boys and revolves around a fictional spokesperson, a boy named Tim (also appeared in promotional comics for Buster Brown and Superman-Tim). The artist for this comic may have been associated with the Walt Disney company as well. Early issues were sub-titled "The Boys' Own Magazine" while the "Official for Pie Eaters" slogan (apparently referred to a now obscure, but one-time "hip," bit of slang) was added later. The back cover has an ad by the Missoula Mercantile Co. for a "Perfection Suit" priced at $16.50. 4-in. x 7-in 8 pages B&W.

Street and Highway Accident Data booklets, series of free driving safety booklets published annually since 1931 by Travelers Insurance Co. The booklets contain traffic statistics and illustrations that typically depict dangerous driving situations and/or accidents.
This is the 6th annual issue. The front cover, back cover, and the centerfold all have painted artwork. Inside, the booklet is heavily illustrated with many of them full page. Also, there are 4 cartoons worth mentioning in particular. One by Carl Anderson (Henry), another by Bill Holman (Smokey Stover), and two by Ralph Stein (Popeye). 8-in. x 6-in. B&W with some color, 16 pages on plain paper. There is a larger version with 40 pages.
