Real-life gangster Vannie Higgins double-crosses every hood he works with, but that leaves him with a lot of enemies who want him dead. A man with a history of family insanity suspects he is the serial killer the cops are seeking, but the truth is stranger still. Private eye Dan Dennis is hired by a woman who claims to be from another planet, but she's beautiful and the money is good, so he takes the case.
