Ben Hur, 1st Printing, Painted Cover. Art by Joe Orlando. (HRN 147, with 11/58 date). At the time of Jesus, young Judah Ben-Hur, son of a prince of Jerusalem, had wealth, family and power. In a day he was stripped of this by Messala, a Roman. Through years of toil as a galley slave, Ben-Hur thought of nothing by vengeance. Then one day his wish was granted. He met Mesalla in a chariot race. Cover price $0.15.
