1st printing. Written by Michael Burgan. Art by Richard Domingeuz, Bob Wiacek, and Charles Barnett III. Nat Turner was a slave in Southampton, Virginia. Fiercely intelligent, Turner had religious visions, and his charisma was such that he could sway people with his words. In 1831 he led the bloodiest slave rebellion in United States history when he took a solar eclipse as a sign from God that he, and his fellow slaves, deserved their freedom by any means necessary. Softcover, 7-in. x 8 1/2-in., 32 pages, full color. All Ages Cover price $7.95.
