"The Haunted House!", art by Don Heck; Two fugitives hide in an old house, disguising themselves as ghosts to frighten away children; They themselves flee the house because of ghostly noises made by fifth-dimensional beings. Here's one of Buddy's favorite Kirby/Ayers pre-superhero monster covers! While still in junior high school, Buddy found a copy at a C.B. Berry Elementary Halloween carnival. In those days kids (but not Buddy) contributed comics to be sold at five cents each. Needless to say, Buddy loaded up!

"I Alone Know the Dread Secret of Gor-Kill, the Living Demon!", pencils by Jack Kirby, inks by Dick Ayers; A gaseous alien comes down to Earth and inhabits a dam of water to harass local villagers; The village loafer realizes that the alien is using the water in the dam to embody itself and steals dynamite in order blow up the pass before the alien can reach the sea. "Vial of Inspiration" text story, art by Joe Maneely. "Those Who Lurk Below!", art by Steve Ditko; A sadistic jailer buys a book detailing an alien civilization that has retreated below the Earth in order to avoid surface climate change in order to torment his prisoner with false hope of escape. "The Monster in My Cellar!", art by Reed Crandall; Wanting to give his editor a monster story to end all monster stories, a science fiction writer's imagination somehow makes the monster in his story real; He fights in the cellar and upstairs until he can imagine it out of existence. "I Met the Thing on Midnight Island!", art by Don Heck; A sailor finds a note from a castaway, but on the island named he finds only a strange creature; When an alien ship arrives to pick up the creature, he realizes that it was a castaway. 36 pages, full color.
