The Southwesterncon itself was an early comic convention held annually in Texas with the location alternating between Houston and Dallas. Harold Le Doux and Fritz Leiber were the guests of honor. The Southwesterncon eventually grew into the Dallas Fantasy Fair which was one of the country's largest comic book conventions at the time. 5.5" x 8.5", 8 pages, B&W.
MyComicShop founder Buddy Saunders is credited as an aide for this convention alongside other hobby notables Don Maris (Public Relations) and Howard Waldrop (also an aide). On the final day of the convention, attendees were encouraged to head down the street to the Capri Theater to check out a matinee showing of the recently released 2001: A Space Odyssey.
