After the Death of Superman the National Whisper, the DC Universe's version of the National Inquirer, ran a very "I saw Elvis..." issue. Based in Metropolis, The National Whisper is America's leading tabloid. Printing all sorts of stories, with most of them leaning to the absurd, The National Whisper has run afoul of the Man of Steel on occasion. This 4 page spoof newspaper features such absurd headlines as "I Saw Superman Pumping Gas at a Texas Roadstop," "Superman's Spirit Possesses Teen," "Humongous 'S' Shield Appears in A Kansas Wheat Field," and others.
