    Shaped souvenir book with hand lettering and illustrations by Wallis Hall Sturtevant, noted for his book illustrations and impressionist paintings, sold as a keepsake at The Gingerbread Castle. The first half describes a trip through the theme attraction which opened in 1930 in Hamburg, New Jersey. The castle was designed by set designer and architect Joseph Urban from a commission by F.H. Bennett of the F.H. Bennett Biscuit Company, known for the Milk-Bone dog treat. The second half is the Hansel and Gretel story, a primary inspiration for the development of The Gingerbread Castle. 8.5" x 11", color cardstock covers with red & black interior illustrations, 20 pages.
