Lobo (1990 1st Series DC) 1A.D CGC 9.6 1st Printing
Paper: White
Label #4712372005
Ends Jun 8 8:44 PM CST Bid History 7 bids Current Bid $40 Your Secret Max Bid If you'd like to bid, please log in or register. Direct Edition. His name is Lobo. His job is intergalactic bounty hunter. His methods are insane. From the pages of L.E.G.I.O.N. '90 comes the wild, unchained, devil-may-care character you love to hate in his first solo mini-series. And if you thought he was out of control before, wait until you see what happens here. You see, Lobo is the last survivor of his race...an entire civilization that he personally annihilated just because he wanted to be unique in the universe. But Lobo seems to have missed one, and now that survivor's gone and written an unauthorized biography of Lobo, which doesn't make our maniac very happy. But what's really got Lobo miffed is that he's accepted a contract from L.E.G.I.O.N. to escort his biographer across the universe to their headquarters - delivered alive! Of course, Lobo manages to make a few enemies along the way, complicating his mission as these factions embark on a wild chase across the cosmos to see who will get to Lobo first. Written by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant, with art and painted cover by Simon Bisley. New Format. Cover price $0.99.

Both Gilbert and Jaime Hernandez developed their skills as artists in public, in the pages of Love and Rockets, and as quickly as any artists ever have. The first issue showed two promising young tyros; by the fourth, both brothers were clearly among the foremost cartoonists of their generation. But not all of that development took place on the main stage of their shared magazine. They built up to their 1981 self-published debut with years of experiments, fan art, zine illustrations, early short comics, and gig posters, and continued to work out in personal sketchbooks after establishing themselves as the preeminent cartoonists they became. Fantagraphics published two volumes of this nascent or private drawing in 1989 and 1992. Now, this deluxe hardcover collects the work from these two volumes with other rarely-seen artwork for a new generation of admirers. It's presented as a dual-sided flip book with one cover, and one half of the book, featuring Jaime's work and a second cover, and other half of the book, highlighting Gilbert's work. The Hernandez Brothers mastery of comics is seen on every page of the thousands of pages of Love and Rockets theyve drawn over the last 40 years. Here, for the first time in three decades, see the work they put into becoming those artists. Hardcover, 10-in. x 13-in., 300 pages, B&W. Mature Readers Cover price $75.00.
