Two comics titans team up for this special, non-fiction Classics Illustrated entry which covered the Civil War. This chapter tells a fascinating and lesser known story from November of 1864 in which eight Confederate agents travelled to New York City with bottles of an incendiary fluid called Greek Fire intending to set fires across the city- a plan that failed miserably as none of the fires took with the most severe burning just four rooms of a hotel. Pencil and ink on art board. 14 1/4" x 22 1/2". NOTE: One figure in the first panel is a pasted in stat. As the stat is partially detached, it's evident that the redraw was to change his demeanor from calm to shocked.
