"Yo-Yo Hangup in the Sky," script by Gardner Fox, pencils by Joe Kubert, inks by Murphy Anderson; Taking Harris back to his spaceship, Hawkman and his passenger encounter a gravity-defying auto, which he rescues, despite being similarly affected; The car's passengers turn out to be bank robbers trying to make a getaway, and they try to shoot him, unsuccessfully; Hawkman finally questions Harris, determining that his moonstone ring, bought that morning, is the teleportation device, and that the anti-gravity effect came from his own spaceship's grappler and repelling beams, accidentally activated by Harris when he was aboard. 36 pgs., full color. $0.12. Donald Duck's Atom Bomb (#Y1 1947) is the rarest of the Cheerios Premiums. Features Carl Barks art. Due to the atomic bomb theme, Disney will never reprint the Atom Bomb story as presented here in the original, non-censored version. Donald had "got a way picked out to make money - and lots of it!" by selling an "atomic hair-grower" at $1.00 per bottle. A cash register and money in a customer's hand is depicted. In the censored version, Donald has "more than money in mind" and gives away free samples of a normal hair-grower. The word "atomic" is removed from the board, but most noticeable are the cash register being replaced for a pyramid of bottles and the people in the queue having combs in their hands instead of dollar bills. Issue also has part six of "Alpha and Omega," a 10-part origin story of Solar Man of the Atom with script by Jim Shooter and art by Barry Windsor-Smith and Bob Layton. Each chapter of the origin story has a two-page pinup. When all 10 two-page pinups are put together, they form a gigantic page of the climax of the origin story.
