NOT polybagged - "By Their Own Bootstraps" In 1839, an alien starliner malfunctioned and exploded. A jettisoned life pod crashed in a cotton field in the Deep South. The pod was equipped with a unique survival mechanism that was programmed to configure its passenger's genetic structure to match whatever life form it first encountered. And so it happened that Miriam, the slave who discovered the pod, found inside a baby boy with her mother's eyes. Today, the alien is still alive, in the guise of successful attorney Augustus Freeman IV of Dakota. Still marooned, he waits for Earth's technology to catch up to his life pod's. Secretly possessing superpowers, he quietly helps people in need, until recent events in the city of Dakota - and the arguments of a certain opinionated young woman - compel him to become more than just a silent friend to the community. He dons a costume to become Icon, the hero of Dakota. Written by Dwayne McDuffie, with art by Mark Bright and Mike Gustovich. Cover by Denys Cowan and Jimmy Palmiotti. Includes a 3-page preview of Static. Cover price $2.95.

Cover by Gianluca Pagliarani. (W) Warren Ellis (A) Gianluca Pagliarani Where did the space heroes go to die? A major new series by Warren Ellis, the writer who reinvented science fiction in comics, in the alternate-world style of the award-winning Ministry Of Space and Aetheric Mechanics - a retro-punk 'future of the past' where spaceships still belched smoke and arguments were still settled with laser pistols. 1956. Personal space flight is becoming illegal all over the world. Grounded space pilot Mary Raven has to journey to Earth's last spaceport, the island of Ignition City, to recover her dead father's effects - and discovers, there in the lawless interzone of the ramshackle settlement raised inside the ring of launch pads, that her father died on the wrong end of a ray-gun. She's not going to leave until she finds out who killed Rock Raven, but there's a lot of people who'd rather feed her to the recycling chipper first! Ignition City is an on-going color epic told in five issue series featuring the art of Gianluca Pagliarani! Cover price $3.99.

April 2010 Printing. $1 reprint of Invincible (2003) #1. Written by Robert Kirkman. Art and Cover by Cory Walker. Mark Grayson is just like most everyone else his age. He's a senior at a normal American high school. He has a crappy part time job after school and on weekends. He likes girls quite a bit...but doesn't quite understand them. He enjoys hanging out with his friends, and sleeping late on Saturdays...at least until the good cartoons come on. The only difference between Mark and everyone else is that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, and as of late, he seems to be inheriting his father's powers. Which sounds okay at first, but how do you follow in your father's footsteps when you know you will never live up to his standards? This issue: ORIGIN ISSUE!!! Strange things begin to happen to Mark Grayson as he begins to develop superpowers. Luckily, his dad is around to show him the ropes; at least he WOULD be if he weren't so busy saving the world all the time. Mark is forced to go out on his own, and try to figure out how all this superheroing business works. The results are a monumental disaster. Meanwhile, there's trouble at school, when Mark is dragged into a fight of epic proportions.
