    Cannon God Exaxxion (2001) 13

by KENICHI SONODA; produced by STUDIO PROTEUS The action is heating up in Cannon God Exaxxion, as our hero Hoichi has finally found his fighting spirit. At first troubled by the concept of sacrificing the few for he many, Hoichi saw many of his friends die at the hands of the colonizing aliens. Now that he's seen how mean they can be, he's about to show them the resolve of the humans, with fury and youthful rebellion. In the last issue, he was in a pitched battle with an alien robot of equal size and greater fury, but the fantastic technology developed by Hoichi's grandfather was the victor, and the irony is the technology originally belonged to the aliens of the past! How did it come to be on Earth? And how did Hoichi's grandfather develop the technology? Well, in issue #13 some of that will begin to be explained, and we'll see how Akane deals with being a captor of the aliens. Will they force the information out of her. It's a informational, nail-biting issue. Don't miss it! ? From the creator of Gunsmith Cats! FOR MATURE READERS On sale January 15 b&w, 40pg . . . $3.50 Cover price $3.50.

  • Issue #16
    Cannon God Exaxxion (2001) 16

KENICHI SONODA FOR MATURE READERS On sale August 13, b&w, 32pg, $2.99 From the creator of Gunsmith Cats! Oh no! In the last issue, Hoichi, the reluctant teen hero with a giant robot cannon, made a risky move, and it might turn out to be really bad for his public image. Hoichi and his team of delicious and technically adept ladies (not to mention his genius grandfather) are not only fighting a war of violence, but also a battle of information, trying to keep the alien forces from turning the human population against Exaxxion. And now it looks like the information war will be a tough one, as the giant robot clumsily stumbles around. And when a giant robot stumbles around, you can bet it causes some damage. Look out Hoichi, don't step on those people! Yikes! Cover price $2.99.

  • Issue #17
    Cannon God Exaxxion (2001) 17

KENICHI SONODA On sale September 17, b&w, 32pg, $2.99 Yeah, it was really cute in that last issue, when that darling little Akane ended up in Hoichi's lap while he was piloting his giant robot, Exaxxion. It was fantastic that the sexy android, Isaka, was able to go and rescue Akane and Hoichi's mom from those pesky alien forces, and now the two are up in the cockpit, and what's that in the way of Hoichi's view? Why, it's a cute pair of panties on an understandably embarrassed schoolgirl (this IS manga after all)! But it's not all red faces and panty peeks. No. Strange wires have started snaking out from Akane's leg, and it probably has something to do with that odd bullet the Riofaldian doctor shot into her. At any rate, it's causing a lot of pain for poor Akane, and it's about to cause a lot of trouble for Hoichi and friends. Find out why! Cover price $2.99.

  • Issue #18
    Cannon God Exaxxion (2001) 18

KENICHI SONODA FOR MATURE READERS On sale October 15, b&w, 32pg, $2.99 Everything is twisting and turning in the world of Cannon God Exaxxion. Hoichi is pretty mad at his grandfather, and will turn to some drastic, but short-lived measures to prove how angry he is over the killing of innocent civilians. Meanwhile, the Riofaldians will also turn against their own in an attempt to secure another XXX unit so they can do battle with Hoichi and his giant robot. This is a lynch pin issue, starting what feels like a new arc in a series that defies story arcs! Now the fight is very political, yet no less physical, and the back story is about to start pouring forth. Stay tuned to Cannon God Exaxxion, it's just getting started, and it's already knee-deep in intensity! Cover price $2.99.

Volume 4 - 1st printing. "Stage: 4!" Story and art by Kenichi Sonoda. Hoichi Kano's responsibilities are just a bit heavier than those of your typical teenager-- taking out the garbage, mowing the lawn, or washing the car fall just a bit short of single-handedly fighting an alien colonization! Luckily, Hoichi's got the right tools for the job, like a state-of-the-art integrated gunsuit and the antimatter-powered giant robot, Exaxxion. That's some heavy-duty ordnance, but the invaders didn't make it halfway across the galaxy without some pretty impressive gear, including a major league mega-robot of their own that incapacitates Exaxxion, forcing Hoichi to take on the Riofaldian hordes solo in a last-ditch effort to free Exaxxion, humanity's last chance to prevail against extraterrestrial tyranny! Volume 5 - 1st printing. "Stage: 5!" Story and art by Kenichi Sonoda. Life has started to look up for Hoichi Kano. Sure, he's Earth's only hope of resisting an insidious alien colonization-slash-invasion. Sure, he's had to deal with the fact that every time he uses his super-powered gunsuit or the mighty robot Exaxxion to fight the aliens he puts the lives of everyone he loves in danger. But every high school student has issues, right? Now, Hoichi is kicking butt and taking names, and it looks like he has the Riofaldians on the run. He's got the girl, the guns, and his father-a depraved, eccentric genius who commands a war room full of voluptuous androids-on his side. What more could a hero need? But in the shadow of a tenuous cease-fire a battle still rages, with both sides desperate to win the support of the masses-both Human and Riofaldian alike! With so much propagandized mud being slung, will anyone know who the true enemies are at the end of the day?
