Story and art by Peter Hoey and Maria Hoey. Cover by Peter Hoey.
What separates us from animals? What connects us? Award-winning cartoonists Peter and Maria Hoey probe these mysteries across six surreal and interconnected stories.
After tremendous acclaim for their series Coin-Op Comics, two brilliant creators present their first graphic novel: a menagerie of wild tales. Pushing the boundaries of their dazzling and unique narrative style, Animal Stories weaves together six short stories exploring the mysterious relationships between humans and other animals.
A girl who keeps pigeons starts receiving messages from a new bird in her flock. A ship's crew rescues a dog, only to find far stranger things in the sea around them. A reincarnated cat with criminal intentions, a parrot who leads a revolution, and a squirrel who tempts a woman in a beautiful garden glade.
Drawing inspiration from Aesop's Fables, film noir, and the Old Testament, Peter and Maria Hoey apply their singular and sophisticated visual storytelling to create a new set of modern animal tales for modern times.

Krazy Little Comics (1967 Topps): Badman is one of sixteen parody mini-comics originally produced as test market items in 1967, by the Topps Chewing Gum Company. They did not see full national distribution. All were written by Roy Thomas and feature Wally Wood cover and interior art. These minis spoof not only Marvel and DC super-heroes, but other comic characters as well, like the Phantom, Prince Valiant, and Tarzan. These possibly predate, or are at least contemporaneous with, Not Brand Ecch! #1 (08/1967), and are among the rarest of the Merry Marvel Marching Society era items. Full color, 2.5-in. x 3.5-in., no cover price, 8 pages.

Tags: Big Nate Collections (part 6)Published 2010 by Andrews McMeel.$4.70
$3.20
2nd and later printings. By Lincoln Peirce. Big Nate, a.k.a. middle schooler Nate Wright, is eleven years old, four-and-a-half feet tall, and the wunderkind creation of cartoonist Lincoln Peirce. Nate is also the star of six novelized books to be published by HarperCollins, the first of which debuted on the New York Times children's best-seller list. This Big Nate Collection collects Peirce's Big Nate strips, originally published only in newspapers. For those not familiar with Big Nate, think Diary of a Wimpy Kid meets Calvin and Hobbes. Nate is a self-described genius and a sixth-grade Renaissance man equipped with only a #2 pencil and the unshakable belief that he is destined for greatness (a fortune cookie told him so). He fights a daily battle against overzealous teachers, undercooked cafeteria food, and all-around conventionality. He's the original rebel without a clue, alternately abrasive and endearing to classmates and teachers alike. Throughout Peirce's Big Nate Collection, Nate blazes an unforgettable trail through the sixth grade at P.S. 38, earning straight As in laughs (and numerous detentions) along the way. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 224 pages, B&W. Cover price $9.99.

1st printing. Collects Gumballs (2016 IDW) #1-4.
Story and art by Erin Nations.
Gumballs dispenses an array of bright, candy-colored short comics about Erin's gender transition, anecdotal tales of growing up as a triplet, and fictional stories of a socially inept love-struck teenager named Tobias. The wide-ranging series is filled with single-page gag cartoons, visual diaries of everyday life, funny faux personal ads, and real-life horror stories from customers at his day job. Gumballs offers a variety of flavors that will surely delight anyone with a taste for candid self-reflection and observations of humanity. Gumballs tips its hat to the classic alt-comic tradition of Eightball, Optic Nerve, and Box Office Poison, but speaks with a delightfully fresh voice for the modern age.
This book collects Gumballs #1-4, plus 32 pages of brand-new content!
NOTE:
"Gumballs is funny, sincere, and just generally brilliant-when dealing with autobiography, fake personal ads, or any number of other events. Nations is a promising new voice in comics, and you need to read Gumballs." -ComicsVerse
"Gumballs lays bare a lot of serious, complicated stuff and presents it with a frankness and humor that really moved me to my core." -Multiversity Comics Cover price $19.99. -
