A group of international scientists and archeologists on a publicly funded dig discover a hidden city beneath the streets of Berlin. Now, crews of scientists with state-of-the-art weapons and equipment must travel back in time to stop the bomb from going off. However, they soon discover that, rather than going back in time for 24 hours as intended, they've been sent back 65 years into the heart of Hitler's Germany. Cover price $4.99.

Donald Duck's Atom Bomb (#Y1 1947) is the rarest of the Cheerios Premiums. Features Carl Barks art. Due to the atomic bomb theme, Disney will never reprint the Atom Bomb story as presented here in the original, non-censored version. Donald had "got a way picked out to make money - and lots of it!" by selling an "atomic hair-grower" at $1.00 per bottle. A cash register and money in a customer's hand is depicted. In the censored version, Donald has "more than money in mind" and gives away free samples of a normal hair-grower. The word "atomic" is removed from the board, but most noticeable are the cash register being replaced for a pyramid of bottles and the people in the queue having combs in their hands instead of dollar bills. Appearances by: Donald Duck, Huey Dewey and Louie, Professor Mollicule, and Professor Sleezy. Cheerios 1947, 32-page, full color, newsprint promotional comic, 6-7/8 x 3-1/8, Issue #Y1. 32 pages.

Cover by John Giunta. Stories and art by Howie Post and others. Funny-animal comics from Spotlight Publishers. When the hive's honey is threatened by a farmer, Bee-29 transforms into a bee superhero to stop him. But when he learns the honey is needed for the "war effort" to stop Hitler, the bees change their buzz, in an unusual mix of kids' humor and WWII propaganda. In another story that showcases its historical era, Spot and Dot get jobs through the WPA to work on a farm. But the journey to the farm becomes a cross-country odyssey. Frank Furter the dog sneaks into the carnival, but freaks out when he thinks "hot dogs" are cooked canines, a natural enough reaction. Cool cover by John Giunta. To Be or Not to Be a Bee...; Sammy the Stork; Gee Gee the Talking Horse: The Mysterious Castle!; Spot and Dot; Life's But a Stage...; Eeny Meeny and Moe; Frank Furter. 48 pages, Full Color. By Fred Kaplan.
From the author of the classic The Wizards of Armageddon and Pulitzer Prize finalist comes the definitive history of American policy on nuclear war—and Presidents actions in nuclear crises—from Truman to Trump.
Fred Kaplan, hailed by The New York Times as a rare combination of defense intellectual and pugnacious reporter, takes us into the White House Situation Room, the Joint Chiefs of Staffs Tank in the Pentagon, and the vast chambers of Strategic Command to bring us the untold stories—based on exclusive interviews and previously classified documents—of how Americas presidents and generals have thought about, threatened, broached, and just barely avoided nuclear war from the dawn of the atomic age until today.
Kaplans historical research and deep reporting will stand as the permanent record of politics. Discussing theories that have dominated nightmare scenarios from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Kaplan presents the unthinkable in terms of mass destruction and demonstrates how the nuclear war reality will not go away, regardless of the dire consequences.

1st printing. Written by Chris McNab and Hunter Keeter. Weapons have always attracted controversy. In the modern media age, however, they are also surrounded by confusion and misunderstanding. Tools of Violence unravels the myths of modern weaponry, explaining how a weapon system works, how it is applied by soldiers, police or civilians under pressure, what happens when innocents get in the way, its effect on the human body or physical structures, its political controversies, and its place in international law. Judgements are backed up by interviews with those directly engaged with weapons technology, including frontline soldiers, police officers, academics, weapons specialists and defence analysts. Accessible and absorbing, Tools of Violence is essential reading for those wanting to understand the weapons technology of today and how and why it is used. Hardcover, 320 pages, Text (with Color photos). Cover price $24.95.
