UK Edition. "The Moment of--the Man-Slayer!", script by Arnold Drake, pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by Syd Shores; Endowed with new powers by the god known as Zo, Mar-Vell visits the dead body of Una one last time before returning to Earth space; He taunts Yon-Rogg with images of himself alive before returning to Earth to tie up his loose ends as "Walter Lawson", when he arrives in his office he finds that the Cape is about to launch a rocket; Arriving at the Cape as "Lawson", Mar-Vell is put at gun-point and is under suspicion of spying due to his long absence. But before he can be taken into custody, the Man-Slayer, a robot created by Communists attacks the Cape; As Mar-Vell uses his illusion casting powers to distract the soldiers to get away and change into Captain Marvel, in Russia, the Black Widow breaks into the control room of the Communist leader who is controlling the Man-Slayer in an attempt to stop the attack from its source; However, before she can stop the leader, she is knocked out. 36 pgs., full color.

"Traitors or Heroes?", script by Gary Friedrich, pencils by Frank Springer, inks by Vince Colletta; Mar-Vell has returned to his apartment to try and establish a new civilian guise, however when the Man-Slayer reactivates under its own power, Mar-Vell returns to fight off the confused android; However, the robots proves too strong, and decides to escape with his teleportation powers; Teleporting into space, Mar-Vell sees the Kree ship being restocked by a supply ship, and uses the opportunity that the Kree ships shields are down to board the ship and confront Yon-Rogg; Mar-Vell manages to injure Yon-Rogg but is forced to return to Earth when he realizes that the Man-Slayer is threatening Carol's life. 36 pgs., full color.

"When a Galaxy Beckons," script by Gary Friedrich, pencils by Frank Springer, inks by Vince Colletta; Held at gun point at the Cape for treason charges, Mar-Vel trys to figure out what to do while Carol tries to appear for Mar-Vell's release; While at the same time the Puppet Master--from his island hideout--uses one of his special puppets to take control of Iron Man, part of a plan to aid Egghead against the Avengers (See Avengers #64); Iron Man, in his civilian guise as Tony Stark is on his way to business in Miami, is controlled by the Puppet Master to change into Iron Man and leaves the plane to attack Mar-Vell; The Puppet Master manages to have Iron Man attack Mar-Vell, however the battle ends when unexpectedly when Stark's heart condition causes Stark to have a heart attack; A furious Puppet Master, not knowing why Iron Man no longer response to his command, throws his puppet at the controls causing an explosion that buries the Puppet Master under his machinery. 36 pgs., full color.

"That Zo Might Live... ...a Galaxy Must Die!", script by Gary Friedrich, pencils by Gary Friedrich (breakdowns) and Tom Sutton (pencils), inks by Dan Adkins; Zo has come forth to Mar-Vell and seen him the balance of the universe and what would happen if Zo's will is not done; He explains to Mar-Vell that the followers of the Kree god Tam-Bor, who have built an idol to their god, uses a magnetic force that threatens to destroy the whole universe; Transporting Mar-Vell to the city of his birth, Mar-Vell steals a ship to fly to the location where the worshipers of Tam-Bor reside; Allowing himself to get captured, in hopes the followers will take them to their headquarters. First appearance of the new Captain Marvel in "Behind The Mask Of Zo!", script by Archie Goodwin, pencils by Don Heck, inks by Syd Shores; Taken prisoner by the followers of Tam-Bor, Mar-Vell burst free and attempts to destroy the magnetic device which threatens the universe; When Ronan the Accuser tries to stop Mar-Vell, however Ronan fails and Mar-Vell succeeds in destroying the magnetic device inside Tam-Bor; Before Ronan can kill Mar-Vell in combat, the Supreme Sentry arrives and banishes Ronan. While on Earth, Carol Danvers awakens in a hospital and flees FBI agents come to question her about Walter Lawson The Supreme Sentry then transports Mar-Vell to the planet Hala and brings him before the Supreme Intelligence; The Surpeme Intelligence tells Mar-Vell that he was being manipulated, and that Zo was really Zarek who was working with the Ronan the Accuser to try use Mar-Vell as a tool to overthrow the Kree empire and take over for themselves; When Zarek tries to kill the Supreme Intelligence with a Negatron Sphere, Mar-Vell shields the blast with his body and miraculously survives. 36 pgs., full color.

First full appearance of the new Captain Marvel in "And a Child Shall Lead You!", script by Roy Thomas, pencils by Gil Kane, inks by Dan Adkins; Trapped in the Negative Zone, Mar-Vell is told by the Supreme Intelligence that he is trapped in this realm due to his blind quest for revenge against Yon-Rogg; However, he offers Mar-Vell a way to potentially free himself and directs his mind towards Earth and to the plight of young Rick Jones, who had just been rejected by his partner Captain America; (Unknown to Rick, Cap had forcefully switched bodies with the Red Skull.); He follows Rick as he returned to Avengers Mansion one last time to collect his things and start hitting the road again; When Jones gets close to an ancient Kree station which contains the Nega Bands, Mar-Vell conjures up an image of Captain America to lure Rick Jones to the bands; There Mar-Vell contacts Jones and explains his plight and that the Bands would allow them to temporarily switch places; Given the opportunity to become a super-hero, Rick accepts and puts on the Nega Bands; Clashing them together he and Mar-Vell change places. "The Mad Master of the Murder Maze!", script by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane (plot), pencils by Gil Kane, inks by Dan Adkins; Having survived the blast that killed Yon-Rogg, Rick Jones awakens and switches to Captain Marvel so that Mar-Vell can take them the distance to New York City; There, Rick begins looking for a job and a place to live; After countless reject, Rick is offered a job and residence in the high tech building called Minos Towers; Minos Towers is run by famous a pathologist made popular by testing the psychology of rats, and has offered employment and cheap lodging for those who wish to work with him; However, Rick and Mar-Vell soon learn that Webb is using the tenants of Minos Towers as part of his next psychological experiment.

"The Hunter and the Holocaust!", script by Roy Thomas, pencils by Gil Kane, inks by Dan Adkins; After playing a number of gigs in New York, Rick Jones is once more met by Mordecai P. Boggs; He offers the opportunity to be Rick's promoter, which Rick once more declines; Later in his apartment, Rick (with the help of Mar-Vell) manage to stop some muggers trying to rob someone in their building; During the fight Rick comes up with a possible solution to separate themselves and free Mar-Vell from the Negative Zone: his old friend Bruce Banner; The two decide to try and track down Banner, first by searching his old hidden labs in the Nevada desert; Along the way they pass through a disaster zone, where Mar-Vell is compelled to stop and help people out, save a little girl, and stop a group of looters known as the Rat Pack from capitalizing on the disaster zone; Brief appearance by the Hulk. "Here Comes the Hulk!", pencils by Gil Kane, inks by Dan Adkins; The Hulk, believing that Rick Jones is part of a plan to attack him, arrives to find the boy passed out; However, Hulk finds himself conflicted as he remembers that he and Rick are friends and this calms him down enough for him to change back into Bruce Banner; When Rick revives, he tells Bruce of his bond to Mar-Vell and their plight with Mar-Vell being stuck in the Negative Zone; Banner agrees to help although he tells the boy that the Negative Zone is not his area of expertise since the relative expert--Reed Richards--has not divulged much information about the Zone; When Banner decides to call upon an old colleague who works at Desert State University, Banner's conversation is interrupted when misguided protesters start throwing rocks which injure Banner's friend; Enraged at the protest, Banner turns into the Hulk who is bent on smashing the student protest. Ad for Ka-Zar and Dr. Doom; Captain America cameo. 36 pgs., full color.
