In the landmark story in Amazing Spider-Man 121 & 122, Gwen Stacy died during Spider-Man's heroic battle vs. the Green Goblin atop the Brooklyn Bridge. Many times since both the web-slinger and his fans have wondered how different Peter Parker's life would have turnedout if Gwen had lived. In this issue the Watcher presents an alternate reality in which Spider-Man saves Gwen. After the Green Goblin knocks Gwen off the bridge, the wall-crawler jumps from the support column to catch her with his arms instead of his webbing! And in spectacular fashion, Spider-Man grabs his girlfriend before they hit the water! Upon returning to safe ground, Peter proposes... and Gwen accepts! Later on the web-spinner tracks down the Green Goblin and (with help from Harry) convinces him to surrender! Everything is going great for the Amazing Spider-Man! Several weeks later Peter and Gwen exchange wedding vows! But at the end of their ceremony, J. Jonah Jameson barges in with breaking news! Very damning news for one Peter Parker! As the cover caption forewarns... sometimes the past is best left in the past. Cameo appearances by Joe Robertson, Flash Thompson, Betty Brant, Ned Leeds, and Aunt May.
