    Devil's Footprints (2003) 1

by SCOTT ALLIE, PAUL LEE, BRIAN HORTON, and DAVE STEWART In an ancient New England town, the family of a deceased sorceror suffers under mysterious illnesses, and the only clue to their maladies is a burning slip of paper with the word "Father" scrawled in an inhuman hand. Attempting to reveal the origin of the curse, the youngest son, Brandon Waite, is forced to dip into his father's bag of evil tricks, conjuring demons and fighting for his own soul. A deal with the devil leads to a demonic battle in the center of the quaint, doomed Massachusetts town. Scott Allie (writer of Star Wars: Empire and editor of Hellboy and Buffy) teams with Paul Lee, creator of Lurid, and Brian Horton, Art Director for video-game producer The Collective ? who together have created the acclaimed painted covers for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the illustrated novel Creatures Habit ? to create a modern nightmare, a graphic novel that turns family and love on end. Colored by Dave Stewart (Hellboy, Human Target), The Devil's Footprints combines moody, atmospheric horror with two-fisted demon fighting. Duel of the Ironclads: U.S.S. Monitor and C.S.S. Virginia at Hampton Roads 1862 HC (2003 Osprey) 1-1ST

1st printing. Written by Angus Konstam. Art by Tony Bryan. When the ironclad USS Monitor steamed out to meet the CSS Virginia on 9 March 1862, the face of naval warfare was changed forever. A four-hour duel left neither ship victorious, but in the wake of the battle wooden warships were rendered obsolete. This book details the clash at Hampton Roads, as well as tracing the development of ironclads within the Union and Confederate fleets. Union ironclads evolved quickly from the time of the production of the Monitor, so that by the end of the war the US Navy possessed the most powerful artillery afloat. The Confederate fleet, meanwhile, was born out of the hulks of existing vessels in naval yards and backwaters within sight of the enemy - its very existence was a tribute to the ingenuity of Southern shipbuilders. Hardcover, 7 1/2-in. x 10-in., 190 pages, Text (with Color and B&W photos) Cover price $29.95.
