1st printing. Based on the story by J. M. Barrie. Adapted by Stephen White. In this graphic novel, Stephen White goes back to the very heart of Barrie's original tale to create a story that is dark, magical, charming, and authentic. The stunning illustrations draw on original, authentic features from the locations that inspired Barrie to write his tale including Moat Brae House in Dumfries and the garden where he played as a boy. In choosing the format of a graphic novel for this retelling, Stephen White has created a new and exciting version of Peter Pan that is like nothing that has been done before. Softcover, 12-in. x 16-in. x 96 pages, full color. Cover price $19.95.

1st printing. Written by Percy Carey. Art and cover by Ronald Wimberly. Underground rap icon Percy Carey tells the true story of his life in the 'Hip-Hop Game' - the dizzying heights and heartbreaking losses - in the raw and brutally honest graphic novel memoir SENTENCES: THE LIFE OF M.F. GRIMM. In SENTENCES, Carey chronicles his life in the sometimes glamorous, and often violent, hip-hop industry; from the first time he picked up a microphone at a block party as a youngster, to the day he lost the use of his legs to gang violence, to his incarceration, and eventually, to his self-reinvention and rise back to the top of his game, becoming a Hip-Hop Grand Master and being placed among the pantheon of the culture. No questions are left unanswered and no apologies are made, resulting in what's sure to be a groundbreaking graphic novel. Joining Carey is up-and-coming artist Ronald Wimberly (LUCIFER, HELLBLAZER: PAPA MIDNITE covers), who breathtakingly illustrates this gritty tale of righteous redemption. If what you know about hip-hop is the flashy cars and voluptuous women that music videos try to sell, be prepared to experience the real side of the industry that only someone who has survived the rise, fall, and rise again, can tell. Softcover, 128 pages, B&W. MATURE READERS Cover price $14.99.

By Ursula Bacon.
A young girl's journey from Hitler's hate to war-torn China.
By the late 1930's, Europe sat on the brink of a world war. As the Holocaust approached, many Jewish families in Germany fled to one of the only open ports available to them: Shanghai. Once called "the armpit of the world," Shanghai ultimately served as the last resort for tens of thousands of Jews desperate to escape Hitler's "Final Solution." Against this backdrop, 11-year-old Ursula Bacon and her family made the difficult 8,000-mile voyage to Shanghai, with its promise of safety. But instead of a storybook China, they found overcrowded streets teeming with peddlers, beggars, opium dens and prostitutes. Amid these abysmal conditions, Ursula learned of her own resourcefulness and found within herself the fierce determination to survive.

1st printing. Written by Abel Lanzac and Antonin Baudry. Art and cover by Christophe Blain. Following 9/11, President Bush's "War on Terror" with plans to invade Iraq erupted into a cultural clash between French reluctance and American assurance over the case for "Weapons of Mass Destruction." In Weapons of Mass Diplomacy, diplomat Abel Lanzac reveals the tension and politics through a French insider's point of view, with satirical humor that softens the controversial subject matter. A graphic milestone of diplomacy, Weapons of Mass Diplomacy, a bestseller in Europe, provides a revelatory account of a period that saw French fries become "freedom fries" and an alternative perspective on the decisions leading up to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. Hardcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 200 pages, full color. Cover price $24.95.

1st printing. Written by Katherine Roeder. Art and cover by Winsor McCay. Cartoonist Winsor McCay (1869-1934) is rightfully celebrated for the skillful draftmanship and inventive design sense he displayed in the comic strips Little Nemo in Slumberland and Dreams of the Rarebit Fiend. McCay crafted narratives of anticipation, abundance, and unfulfilled longing. This book explores McCay's interest in dream imagery in relation to the larger preoccupation with fantasy that dominated the popular culture of early twentieth-century urban America. McCay's role as a pioneer of early comics has been documented; yet, no existing study approaches him and his work from an art historical perspective, giving close readings of individual artworks while situating his output within the larger visual culture and the rise of modernism. From circus posters and vaudeville skits to department store window displays and amusement park rides, McCay found fantastical inspiration in New York City's burgeoning entertainment and retail districts. Wide Awake in Slumberland connects McCay's work to relevant children's literature, advertising, architecture, and motion pictures in order to demonstrate the artist's sophisticated blending and remixing of multiple forms from mass culture. Studying this interconnection in McCay's work and, by extension, the work of other early twentieth-century cartoonists, Roeder traces the web of relationships connecting fantasy, leisure, and consumption. Readings of McCay's drawings and the eighty-one black and white and color illustrations reveal a man who was both a ready participant and an incisive critic of the rising culture of fantasy and consumerism. Hardcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 240 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $60.00.
