A collection of the first five years of "Piled Higher and Deeper," a comic strip about life (or lack thereof) in graduate school, as it originally appeared in Stanford University's "The Stanford Daily Newspaper" and online at phd.stanford.edu. Stories, art and cover by George Evans. JAL Publications reprints the classic adventure comic strips of the 20th century. Each issue focuses on a single strip as it appeared in 1989-1990. This issue reprints the Secret Agent Corrigan daily strip. Originally known as Secret Agent X-9, this was a comic strip created by writer Dashiell Hammett (The Maltese Falcon) and artist Alex Raymond (Flash Gordon).
