Volume 3 - 1st printing. "Through the Looking-Glass!"
Based on the story by Lewis Carroll. Adapted by Kyle Baker.
Kyle Baker's adaptation of the madcap sequel to Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is truly inspired.
It begins when Alice wonders what's on the other side of the mirror, and is actually able to pass on through to the other side. Along the way she encounters talking flowers and such unforgettable characters such as Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Lion and the Unicorn, and Humpty-Dumpty, while somehow becoming the White Queen in a surreal chess match against the Red Queen. All the inspired lunacy of Lewis Carroll's classic book comes alive in this beautiful graphic novel.
A graphic masterpiece by eight-time Eisner Award-winner Kyle Baker!
Hardcover, 6 1/2-in. x 9 1/2-in., 64 pages, full color.

Volume 3 - 1st printing. "Frankenstein!"
Based on the story by Mary Shelly. Adapted by Marion Mousse.
Mary Shelley's original novel, "Frankenstein: Or the Modern Prometheus" is not only a masterwork of horror, but it's also considered to be one of the earliest science fiction stories ever. Even today, its themes of man exerting god-like powers in order to create life from death remain a passionately debated topic as modern science continues its experiments with cloning, DNA, and stem cells. Marion Mousse brings the story of Dr. Victor Frankenstein and his tragic monster to frightening new life in this all-new comics adaptation, with dark and brooding artwork that appeals to today's fans of cutting-edge graphic novels.
With the greater page length the CLASSICS ILLUSTRATED DELUXE provides, so much more of the original novel is part of the adaptation, which quite possibly makes this the best comics version yet. About the Author: Marion Mousse (Adapter and Illustrator) is a French comics artist and writer whose distinct style can be seen in such works as "From Outer Space", "Fracasse", and "Moonfleet. Her gloomy and ominous work builds a distinct world for this new adaptation of Shelley's classic.
Softcover, 6 1/2-in. x 9-in., 144 pages, full color.
Cover price $13.95. -

Westward Ho!, 3rd Printing, Classics Comics. Queen's Home News edition, Page 56 has "Three Men Named Smith" text feature rather than the usual coming-next-issue ad). Ad for Classic Comics "Gift Boxes" on back cover. There were 4 boxes offered, A-D, each with 5 different Classic Comics for just 50c. We wonder if any of these boxed sets survived. If so, they must be VERY rare. NOTE: Comic may appear to have three pages missing, but if the "cut" looks straight and clean, the pages are not missing (you can tell by the story line, which is not broken). The comic was printed this way during wartime to minimize paper usage. (HRN 21).
