Wingate's Raiders. Story by Charles J Rolo. Pioneering comics publisher David McKay presents illustrated versions of bestselling books, an early version of Classics Illustrated and the like. This issue tells the true story of Orde Wingate, the controversial British commander who pioneered guerrilla warfare against Japanese forces in Burma. By cutting supply and communication lines and leading his troops on dangerous treks through the jungle, he paralyzed Japanese forces that otherwise could have been deployed in Burma and India.
