Centaur Publishing takes over publishing of the former Star Ranger Comics, one of the first Western-themed comics. Short Western strips, sometimes just one to three pages, with titles like Wild West Junior and Cowboy Jake. The Trouble Hunters tackle a new assignment in the modern West. The Air Patrol gets an aerial view of a crime. A centerfold by Fred Guardineer presents a barroom brawl, complete with a bystander holding "Star Ranger" comics and a wanted poster for publisher Ken Fitch. This series was the only one from Centaur to carry the Centaur brand emblem on its covers.
