Volume 2 -1st printing. "December 1947-May 1950!" Collects stories from Fight Comics (1940-1954) #53-68. Cover by Joe Doolin. The Tiger Girl, created by Robert Webb, was also known as Princess Vishnu. She was brought from India to Africa by her father Rajah Vishnu, after the death of her Irish mother. She was an excellent leader and pretty good in a fight, especially when she used her whip and her tiger ring, which gave her added strength when she looked at it and was accompanied by her companions: Benzali, a tiger, and Abdola, an Indian man. She protected her lost civilization from outsiders and others who meant harm. She became one of Fiction House's longest-lived characters; her stories continued to be published for over a decade until the company ceased operations in 1954. Hardcover, 184 pages, full color. Air Fighters #2 (Originally published in November 1942. Has origin and first appearance of Airboy) is one in a series of reprints published in 1975 by comic and toy collector Don Maris. While similar in format to the Flashback reprints published by DynaPubs (Alan Light), the Maris editions reprint different Gold Age issues and represent better reproduction quality. Note: Hit Comics #1, Plastic Man #2, and Silver Streak #6 are the only issues reprinted by both publishers. The Maris and Flashback issues have become very collectible in their own right. They also represent a very inexpensive way for comic readers to read and enjoy comics that typically sell for thousands of dollars. This Maris edition reproduces the complete original comic including ad pages, but all interior pages are in black-and-white rather than the original color. Cover price $3.00.
