By Paul Hornschemeier. An abusive cowboy to a literate dinosaur to a heartbroken teenager to a has-been TV character running from cancellation...an endless stream of segues from one seemingly un-segue-able narrative to the next -- this is Forlorn Funnies. Moving from his formal experimentation-laden, sharply-designed and critically-acclaimed series, Sequential, Paul Hornschemeier begins this full-color, quarterly series without reserve: seven distinct and separate narratives flow into and out of one another seamlessly, creating the sensation of an anthology written by Siamese quintuplets! 32 pages, full color. Mature Readers. Cover price $3.95.

By Michelle Ann Abate.
Throughout the first half of the twentieth century, the medium was enjoyed equally by both sexes, and girls were the protagonists of some of the earliest, most successful, and most influential comics. In Funny Girls: Guffaws, Guts, and Gender in Classic American Comics, Michelle Ann Abate examines the important but long-overlooked cadre of young female protagonists in US comics during the first half of the twentieth century. She treats characters ranging from Little Orphan Annie and Nancy to Little Lulu, Little Audrey of the Harvey Girls, and Li'l Tomboy, a group that collectively forms a tradition of funny girls in American comics.

1st printing. Written by Luca Debus. Art and cover by Francesco Matteuzzi. Charles M. Schulz was arguably the most influential and popular cartoonist of the 20th century, and he poured many of his own emotions and experiences into the world of Peanuts over its iconic 50-year run. Now, Luca Debus and Francesco Matteuzzi pay tribute to the master by telling the story of Schulz's life in the medium that made him immortal: the comic strip. Every strip provides a laugh as well as a piece of insight into his remarkable life story. Starting with the last days of his monumental career, Funny Things jumps back and forth in time to narrate both Schulz's artistic achievements and the personal episodes that formed him as an author and human being, ultimately shaping him into the most beloved cartoonist on the planet. Filled with affection, charm, and poignant insight, Funny Things imagines Schulz through the lens of the very world he created, inviting us all to meet the man behind the blanket.
