1st printing. The audacious exploits of ten great adventurous female stars from the Golden Age of comic strips. In the 1920s they were socialites and flappers. In the 1960s they were homemakers and heartthrobs. But from the late 1930s to the early 1950s, female stars of the newspaper comic strips were detectives, spies, soldiers of fortune, even superheroes. Accomplishing everything the male comics stars of the time achieved, except they did it in high-heels and flowing skirts. Follow the daring exploits of these smart, tough, independent, AND sexy Dauntless Dames. Both a product of their era and ahead of their time, the women in these stories gave their audience just what they needed. Through the Sunday Comics readers could escape from the woes of the Depression, travel to exotic foreign lands, feel the glamor and gangsters of the entertainment world, and support the Allied efforts in World War II. Presented in an extra-large format, here are the colorful, pulse-pounding tales of nine incredible women, both known and unknown to comics fans. And most are reprinted here for the first time in three-quarters of a century! The book also includes a special bonus section with a dozen paper doll cutouts starring the most popular women comic strip characters of the day. Hardcover, 13-in. x 17-in., 160 pagers, full color. 1st printing. Art and cover by John Romita. Spider-Man is one the most popular characters in the history of comics. This Artist's Edition collects high-resolution scans of the very earliest Amazing Spider-Man daily strips by the two creators most associated with the Web-Slinger, Stan "The Man" Lee and "Jaunty" John Romita! Approximately 300 (!) original daily strips have been scanned, all from 1977 and 1978. The strip debuted on January 3, 1977, and the entire first two months of the strip are included in this volume. Spider-Man's origin is recapped and it's a Who's Who of all your favorite Spidey characters. Each page is meticulously scanned at high resolution and reproduced at the same size they were drawn. 1st printing. By Edward Sorel. Edward Sorel is widely recognized as America's premier illustrator. But when he wasn't painting covers and making drawings for The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Time, and Rolling Stone, he was making comic strips. Sorel's strips are iconoclastic, cynical, and universally excoriating. No target escapes his watchful wrath: politicians, theological dynasties, idealogues left and right, lawyers, publishers, and the usual gang of movers and shakers (nor does he spare himself). Culled from the pages of The Nation, the Village Voice, Penthouse, and other magazines, Sorel proves he is that most dangerous of creatures - a cartoonist with a chip on his shoulder. Softcover, 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., 144 pages, B&W.

1st Printing - A subtle thread links the Beatles to comic strips. And not just because the four musicians had always been fanatic readers of those comics printed on cheap paper. Genuine icons of pop culture, like Marilyn and Coca-Cola, they were fated to meet up with the most classic means of expression, with a clear popular bent, a medium with great narrative and entertainment capacities that easily grabbed the attention of teens of both sexes. The book for the first time investigates and documents the interest that cartoonists, publishers and enthusiasts have shown in their special relationship with the universe of comic strips; a rich and variegated relationship with thousands of publications, in every part of the world, and a production that continues to the present day. In some stories the Beatles are the protagonists, in others they make cameo appearances, while others feature their lyrics transformed into comic strips. Published on the 50th anniversary of the Fab Four first single (Love Me Do) at the beginning of September 2012, the book celebrates the band with a festive, fun and original product, conveying a dimension that does not age, transmitting the legend that endures through the years and changing fashions. Hardcover, 8" x 11", 240 pages, full color. Cover price $39.95.

Cham, real name Count Amédée de Noé and a serious rival to Daumier, may have been the epitome of a célèbre inconnu, a famous unknown. He is one much deserving, at last, of this fi rst account of his huge oeuvre as a caricaturist.
This book concentrates on his mastery of the important newcomer to the field of caricature, which we call comic strip, picture story, and graphic novel. The volume features facsimiles of nearly twenty of these from 1839 to 1863 and ranging from one page to forty (this last a parody of Victor Hugo's Les Misérables).
In addition, summaries and sample illustrations of twenty-seven "minor works" demonstrate that Cham is by far the most important specialist of what was then a new genre in Europe.

1st printing.
Story and art by Scott Adams.
The 16th Dilbert Book.
Everyone whos in business, works for a business, or even just gives others the business is amazed: Scott Adams never lacks for yet another way to lampoon the corporate world. Its not that Adams is anti-business. He's more anti-bad boss than anything. But poor management practices, the effects of bad decisions, and what it all means for the average worker add up to more comedic material than even the man who created Dilbert can tame.
Since Dilbert was first syndicated in 1989, Adams has built a following that would be the envy of any corporate sales and marketing team. His work not only generates howls from readers as they rush to plaster it on lunch-room refrigerators and scan it into interoffice e-mails, it has those same fans reading about their workplaces every Sunday in a multiple-panel, color format. And thats what this treasury, The Collected Dilbert Sundays, provides. This collection offers yet another glimpse into the zany life of Dilbert, Dogbert, Ratbert, and the rest of the crazy cube crew through the masterpiece Sunday comics. Heres even more of the great Adamss irony, sarcasm, and satire that so many have come to depend upon to cope with the corporate workplace. The Collected Dilbert Sundays humorously continues the tradition of poking fun at the world of business from which we all seek to temporarily escape.
