Variant cover with blue background on title by L. B. Cole. The Ghost Spider of Death!! Pre-Code horror and crime comics from L. B. Cole's Star Publications. This was the reissue, with a blue background around the title logo, after a misprint resulting in a black background in the first print run. In an issue-length tale reprinted from Fox's Feature Presentation Black Tarantula (1950) #5, vampiric Count Rorret makes beautiful maiden Elthena his undead slave, by tricking her into believing she can live eternally with the commoner she loves. But the scheme is Rorret's undoing when her lover Leopold refuses to play along. Fairly mild for a pre-Code horror comic, except for the vampires turning into gigantic black tarantulas when they attack their prey. Classic horror cover by L. B. Cole. 32 pages, Full Color.
