The legendary Gabby Hayes, sidekick of all sidekicks in 1940s Western movies, takes the starring role in this series of mini-comics. They were distributed as a set of 5 for a Quaker Oats mail-in premium, likely published by Fawcett. This was the envelope for the set. Includes a note to the local Postmaster, and artwork of Gabby's face, probably by the same unidentified artist as the Giveaway comics and Fawcett's Gabby Hayes Western series. May or may not have recipient address, postmarks and other markings. 7-in. x 3-in., B&W with Red.

Gary Gibson Comics (1950) is a promotional comic book published by the National Dunking Association and given away folded into boxes of donuts by participating bakers. Due to original folding, high grade copies are very rare. Comic originally came with a membership pin and membership card. In addition to a Gary Gibson western adventure, the comic includes instructions and ideas for having a donut dunkin' contest. Sound like fun to us! 16 pages, full color, 6.75-in. x 10-in., all newsprint, no cover price.

Advertising sign probably intended for display in a store window. A.L. Burt was a publisher from 1905-1937, publishing many genre and mass market books and periodicals. The company was sold to Blue Ribbon Books in 1937, where Blue Ribbon referred to the inventory as "Burt Books" and that is the presumed provenance of this sign, assuming a date between 1937 and 1939 when Blue Ribbon sold the A.L. Burt assets and reproduction rights to Doubleday. Artist unknown. Measures 10-in. x 12 1/4-in. Full color.
