1st printing. Collects H.P. Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness TPB (2019 Dark Horse) Vol. 1-2. Based on the story by H.P. Lovecraft. Adapted by Gou Tanabe. Nominated for the Eisner and Harvey Awards, Gou Tanabe's adaptation of the Lovecraft classic is collected in its entirety in Dark Horse's acclaimed Deluxe Edition manga format. Following in the footsteps of Berserk, Hellsing, and Blade of the Immortal, this Deluxe Edition features wrap-around cover art with soft touch lamination and spot gloss, 100 gsm woodfree paper, 8 pages in full color, a title page in silver ink, foil gilding on the edges of the book block, and a satin ribbon bookmark! In 1931, an expedition team arrives at a campsite in Antarctica...to find its crew of men and sled dogs strewn and dead. Some are hideously mangled, as if in rage-some have been dissected in a curious and cold-blooded manner. One man is missing. But a still more horrific sight is the star-shaped mound of snow nearby...for under its five points is another mass grave-and what lies there is not remotely human! At the Mountains of Madness is a journey into the core of Lovecraft's Mythos-into the deep caverns and even deeper time of the dead continent where the secret history of our planet is preserved. Since it was first published in Astounding Stories during the classic pulp era, At the Mountains of Madness has influenced both horror and science fiction worldwide! Hardcover, 7-in. x 10-in., 626 pages, B&W. NOTE: "I love H.P. Lovecraft...It would be great to adapt him as a serialized manga, but I actually saw Gou Tanabe create a great adaption of H.P. Lovecraft's stories. Afterwards, I ended up not doing it because I thought I wouldn't be as good as Gou's version."- Junji Ito (Uzumaki, Black Paradox) Cover price $49.99.

1st printing. Based on the Story by H.P. Lovecraft. Adapted by Gou Tanabe. H.P. Lovecraft's most famous horror story, rendered in chilling detail by modern manga horror master Gou Tanabe! What links together two bands of worshippers, one deep in the Arctic snows, one hidden in the bayous of Louisiana, is more than their shared practice of blood sacrifice. It is the inhuman phrase they both chant: Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn-"In his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming." Now these nightmares will disturb the sanity of Francis Thurston, a young man pursuing an investigation into the cult of Cthulhu that leads to the most forsaken spot in the vast Pacific...and to Earth's supreme terror, the risen corpse-city of R'lyeh. The complete graphic novel in one volume, faithfully reproducing the original Japanese release, featuring a title page in silver ink, eight pages in full color, and eerie metallic copper tones and spot color on the cover. Even the folk of Arkham are frightened of a valley west of town... blighted and deformed by something that fell from space-a twisting, spectral hue-near Nahum Gardner's farm. What had been a mystery to the professors from Miskatonic University gradually becomes a horror for the Gardner family as first, bizarre lightning disintegrates what remains of the cosmic visitor, and then their crops begin to come in strangely-fruits big and bountiful, but bitter and repugnant to eat. Then the unnatural blight spreads to the animals... and finally, to the minds and bodies of the Gardners... twisted by the colour out of space. 1st printing. Based on the Story by H.P. Lovecraft. Adapted by Gou Tanabe. Translated by Zack Davisson. From the modern horror master Gou Tanabe, comes the manga adaptation of H.P Lovecraft's The Shadow Out of Time. First published in 1936 in the legendary pulp magazine Astounding Stories, this is the complete story in one volume with tip-in title page in metallic gold ink and eight pages in color! Professor Peaslee of Miskatonic University has been acting very strange—could he be out of his mind? No…his mind is out of him! Just because one lives in Arkham—just because one teaches there at Miskatonic University—it doesn't mean one has any interest in the occult—in the abnormal. That was always the view of Nathaniel Wingate Peaslee, a respectable professor of political economy. Until that one Thursday in 1908, when Professor Peaslee suddenly began to see in front of him not his students in their lecture hall, but strange shapes inhabiting a grotesque chamber. He collapsed unconscious, and when he awoke, he was strange…very strange. Seemingly unable to recall his identity, the mind inside the body of Nathaniel Peaslee was oddly uninterested in the person he had been. The psychologists were baffled as he sought not to recover his old memory, but to obsessively study the world around him, travelling to distant lands, reading occult books, disturbing others with his odd perspectives on time and existence. He alienated and frightened people—his friends, his wife, even most of his children, except for his youngest son, who believed that one day Nathaniel Peaslee would come back. And then, in 1913, Professor Peaslee did come back, with no memory of his strange sabbatical, but deeply disturbed by the dreams and visions it left him with. His search for the past five years gone missing from his life will lead Peaslee to other cases of lost identity resembling his…and eventually to an ancient city in the Australian desert—from where a long-vanished race still casts their shadow out of time. Softcover, 5-in. x 7-in., 370 pages, full color. Rated T Cover price $21.99.

In the winter of 1927-28, the isolated coastal settlement of Innsmouth, Massachusetts was assaulted by U.S. government agents, its waterfront burned and dynamited, its people taken away to internment camps. Yet that was neither the beginning nor the end of the horror uncovered by a young antiquarian who traveled to Innsmouth in search of rumors from the town's dead past, only to find them still very much alive... and find truths lying under water deeper and colder than any earthly grave! Based on the story by Margaret Atwood. Adapted by Renee Nault.
An instant classic when it was published in 1985, Atwood's genre-bending, dystopian story comes to life in this new, beautifully illustrated graphic novel.
The story is iconic: In the Republic of Gilead, a Handmaid named Offred lives in the home of the Commander, to the purpose that she become pregnant with his child. Stripped of her most basic freedoms, (work, property, her own name), Offred remembers a different time, not so long ago, when she was valuable for more than her viable ovaries, when she was mother to a daughter she could keep, and when she and her husband lived and loved as equals.
Darkly prescient, scathingly sarcastic, and eminently frightening, The Handmaid's Tale has only gained relevance since it was originally published, and remains one of the most powerful, widely read stories of our times.

This first issue of the new series features enough great creators to stun a police dog, as you can no doubt see from the breakdown above. But in particular, you should pay attention to the adaptation of I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. This classic is one of the ten most reprinted stories in the English language! (They probably made you study it in college.) John Byrne is the first artist ever to adapt this famous story to the comics medium, and we're proud to run his vision alongside Harlan's original prose. 32 pages, FC. Cover price $2.95.

Written by Harlan Ellison. Art by Eric Shanower. Cover by Ron Brown. "Some years ago I was approached by the distinguished sf author Barry Malzberg and the editor of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Edward Ferman, to contribute a new story to "the ultimate science fiction anthology," Final Stage. It was to be a collection of stories that were the final word, the absolute envelope-straining outer limit on a variety of themes: the ultimate time-travel story, the ultimate robot story, the ultimate alien-invasion story. And like that. Barry and Ed assigned me the task of writing "the ultimate science fiction sex story." I wrote "Catman." Was it as dramatic as the editors desired? When the book was reprinted in Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, and half a dozen other countries, the only story the overseas publishers would not include, at risk of being a deal-breaker, was "Catman." In two parts, adapted by the brilliant Peter David of Hulk, Star Trek, Sachs & Violens, and Aquaman fame, exquisitely and mature-adultly painted in full glowing living color by Mike Deodato, Jr. (Wonder Woman, et al), this is my "Catman" brought pulsing from the mind's eye to the printed page. Part two is in this issue, along with "How's the Night Life on Cissalda?", which has been rendered in adaptation by Faye Perozich -- who had three scripts in our Special -- and painted by the astonishing artist Eric White, whose covers have been seen on Time, GQ, and Playgirl. Of this story, Truman Capote said, "Ooh, I love it; what a nasty, dirty little story!" This is, of course, our demented sexual orgy issue. Fun for the entire family. (And, as usual, the usual interstitial pages created by me, Harlan, and rendered by him, Eric Shanower.) The usual new story, written this time around a knockout Ron Brown sorta kinda Sinbad-battling-the-roc cover. And the first installment of our new letter column, imaginatively titled "A Letter Column," wherein fools will be upbraided in effusive and elegant prose. Can such wonders be? Can one afford to miss it? I bloody well think not." -- Harlan Ellison 32 pages, FC. Cover price $2.95.

Written by Harlan Ellison. Art by Eric Shanower. Cover by Terese Neilsen. Only fools try to outsmart tidal waves. No matter how worthy you imagine yourself to be, no matter how deeply you believe in your cause, Oscar Wilde was right when he observed, "A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it." We believed, as we still believe, that Harlan Ellison's Dream Corridor is what comics were created to aspire to: A classy and entertaining anthology filled with stories that can roll your socks up and down your ankles, adapted by the very best writers and illustrators in the business. From Peter David and David Lapham to Mike Deodato and John Byrne, every issue of Dream Corridor came at you with the delightful, memorable, and unexpected. Then the debacle happened. The market went up in flames and down in ashes. Mad, costumed trivia tore out its guts with both hands and ate its own innards. We chose to climb to the cool peaks and look down on the lunacy. Now the foolish fads and crossovers have subsided for a time, and Dream Corridor is back. Larger, in a 64-page, quarterly format, but without alteration in what you adored. 64 pages, FC. Cover price $5.95.

The fourth book in the beloved Harry Potter series, now illustrated in glorious full color by award-winning artist Jim Kay.
Harry Potter wants to get away from the pernicious Dursleys and go to the International Quidditch Cup with Hermione, Ron, and the Weasleys. He wants to dream about Cho Chang, his crush (and maybe do more than dream). He wants to find out about the mysterious event involving two other rival schools of magic, and a competition that hasn't happened for a hundred years. He wants to be a normal, fourteen-year-old wizard. Unfortunately for Harry Potter, he's not normal, even by wizarding standards. And in this case, different can be deadly.
This new fully illustrated edition of the complete and unabridged text of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is sure to delight fans and first-time readers alike.
