Johnny Green inherits the mantle of the Green Mask from his father, the original Green Mask. The twist is that Johnny doesn't know he's Green Mask, but still instinctively says his power-word "Eeyow!" when danger threatens. Investigating a haunted cave near the site of the class picnic, Johnny encounters a banshee; Oddball funny-animal hero Pussy Katnip is described in her intro thusly: Proprietress of the best cafe in town, singer of torchy songs and amateur detective, all rolled into one charming bundle of cat loveliness!
