Charlie Brown seeks a sponsor to play softball, in what could be one of the earliest Peanuts baseball strips. Charlie Brown meets the "new girl," Violet, and so does Snoopy. Backup strips include Willie, Ferd'nand, and Strange As It Seems. This was also the first appearance of the Peanuts characters on a comic book cover.
